 How long does sciatica last is probably the question on the mind of every individual who is suffering with this type of pain.  And it is a very good question to ask when you are in pain.  When you have tried various types of alternative methods, because you would rather not have surgery.  The problem with the question of how long does sciatica last is that there is not set answer for everyone.

Sciatica being what it is is different for everyone to say the least.  Where and how it impacts an individual cannot, one be predicted or two be the same.  The pain of sciatica may very well be different for the same person if they endure it more than once.  I can understand while going through the pain and trying to find some kind of relief that the only thing on your mind will be how long does sciatica last? 

Because each person may experience sciatica in a different way, each treatment will be different.  Some may have the beginnings of sciatica and if caught at that stage, could prevent it from increasing into something far worse, by exercising and even changing their lifestyle.  For them the question of how long does sciatica last would not be a hard one to answer.

For the individual who has tried exercise, yoga, has done a complete lifestyle change, has tried shots and taken oral meds, etc. the question of how long does sciatica last is not going to be answered that easily.  There are millions of adults that are suffering with sciatica and can’t seem to find the end of the pain train anywhere.  For them, not wanting to have surgery is more like a commitment to endurance than anything else.  Understand that when we are talking about sciatic pain, we are talking about a level of pain for some people, which often debilitate them.  Some individuals can not move from one position to the next, such as sitting to standing without the pain coursing through their bodies.  And once they get moving it’s often a three to five minute process to go from sitting to standing before the pain subsides.

While understanding where the pain is coming from may be the key to answering the question of how long does sciatica last for you, others know and are still asking how long does sciatica last? Is there a cure in sight besides surgery?  I certainly hope so.  To date I haven’t seen one that has been recommended by doctors yet.  I hope that one comes  soon.  Until then, many sciatica suffers are left with the question of how long does sciatica pain last?
