 Ok so you read the title of this article and probably thought, "What crazy person is trying to put sciatica and yoga together?"  That doesn’t even make good sense.  Well let me tell you there are a few things about yoga that go perfectly with sciatica symptoms.  Oh yes believe me, I hope to make a believer out of you by the end of this very short, one sided discussion.

So let’s explore for a few minutes what happens when you have sciatica.  It means that there is something pressing or pinching the sciatic nerve.  The sciatic nerve runs from your lower back down to your lower limbs.  It is the largest and widest single nerve in the human body and it sits on the length of your lower spine.  The light just went on, on where I’m going with sciatica and yoga, right?  Yes, that is why when you feel sciatica pain it normally starts in your lower back.  Most individuals will begin to complain of lower back pain and then pain from their buttocks, down into their legs.  This is the sciatic nerve acting up because something has bothered it.
