There are lots and lots of options out there, with some legitimate and others bogus.  Be careful of the bogus ones, they could cause you more harm than good.

Living with sciatica is a serious thing.  There are many types of this condition but while most of them are different in one way or another, they have the common thread of discomfort, even pain.  Since they all start in your lower back, it’s probably a good idea to find some sciatica back exercises.  

After doing research on this I have come to the conclusion that the best way to keep this back pain at bay is by doing sciatica back exercises.  These specific types of exercises will help to provide your back with some relief.  Most individuals choose to use Yoga as a daily exercise regiment.  Most of the poses or positions in yoga are meant for the purpose of stretching ones limbs.  That also includes stretching ones back, which is vital to the main purpose of doing sciatica back exercises.

 You can compliment the back exercises with having a chiropractor work on you back twice a week.  This will also provide relief for your sciatic nerve, align your back and alleviate any pain or discomfort. Doing sciatica back exercises are a good way of making sure that you strengthen your back muscles.  But don’t just stick to doing sciatica back exercises, also so some regular exercises to help strengthen your core muscles as well.  The more assistance you provide for your back the better.  A lot of that assistance will help in the support of your core area, such as your abdomen.  Think of it like a string tied to the top of your rib cage and you abdomen is the anchor pulling it taught will ensure that you’re aligned.  The alignment will work for both the front of your body and the back.

There are thousands of websites offering exercises for sciatica, so how do you know which one is right for you?  I personally like the spin the bottle method; you know that game we used to play when we were little.  Ok well not really.  Your doctor can probably provide the most assistance in picking the right exercises for sciatica.  He/she will be able to best determine which exercise for sciatica will work with you.

But how to do you get that option for your doctor to approve?  A little research should do the trick.  So let’s plunk on over to the internet and begin the process.  First what are you looking for? Next how do you determine if it’s right for you and finally, making sure that it’s not harmful.

So we are first looking for exercises for sciatica.  That is our first goal.  So on to the internet we will type in sciatica exercises and watch the internet bring thousands of sites with options to us.  Once we have the many, many, many, did I say many yet, options to choose from we need to do a weed through process.  That’s when you sit down and get rid of all the redundant sites.  Those are the sites that are duplicates of other sites.  They may be under a different name, but the parent site is the same.  Once you’ve done that, you find a few links that you feel are interesting and look like they can assist you.

Now that you have the sites and you are looking at the different links that you like. You want to make a mental checklist of the things that you would like your ideal site to offer.  Keep in mind that you may not get everything you want on your mental checklist, but if you get half of that you’re doing really well.  I would want to see some indication that they are clear on what sciatica is before they offer me exercises for sciatica.  If I can’t find that in the link, then I’m moving on personally.  Once I have the site with exercises and examples as well as those that offer video examples I’m almost finished.

Will these exercises for sciatica that I’ve found cause me more pain than relief? Not if the site has properly explained the exercise.  That is why it’s important that when you are looking at a site they should provide you with some form of illustration.  Be it a video or a step-by-step picture of a person completing the exercise.  I’m a firm believer that a picture is worth a thousand words.  In this case it could very well be worth a pain free back.  After you have reached the assessment, take it and a copy of it, write down any notes you may have and give that to your doctor.  With their help you should be on your way to having the perfect exercises for sciatica and plenty of back relief.
